Derartu (Aleyah) Rain

If I have your personal e-mail, you might have seen pictures of our baby already. I am a proud mama and I'm so excited to finally share a photo of the little girl we can finally call our own! Yesterday, April 23, 2010, God officially blessed us with another daughter and a sister for Alexa! We are walking on Cloud Nine today. We feel truly blessed to have this opportunity to share our life with this precious child. This blog was first constructed because of her, I think it is so awesome to finally have her image grace the pages of our family blog. The journey continues and we still appreciate all prayers as we prepare ourselves for the next step....travel!

We are amazed, yet not surprised, by God's amazing dedication to this process and to our family. We had many moments of uncertainty and worry. At one time we thought that we would have to take two trips and there was also the possibility of me traveling without Steve. As of now, we will take one trip in which we will meet our daughter and bring her home! A God thing for sure...

It still blows my mind to think that this little girl will be running through the sprinklers with her big sister in our backyard this summer! She will no doubt be confused and a bit intimidated by all that she will experience firsthand, but with time she will eventually come to understand that we are her family and we have loved her even before knowing who she was.

No one told us this process would be easy. As a matter of fact, there were many who thought we were crazy (perhaps they're right). Something encouraging that we did hear from countless others is that it would be well worth it! My Cup Runneth Over....
